Kendall O'Halloran
Hello Cantonians! I am thrilled to be running for re-election
for Canton School Committee.

I have been proudly serving on the Committee for the past
three years — in the role of Vice Chair in the second year, and as Chair this year. I have spent many hours every week devoted to continuous improvement in our school system for the betterment of our children, families, and educators. I am more than happy to do so, as I believe strongly in “Being the Good” we want to see in our world, and making sure our actions model what we want our children seeing, and how we’d be proud to see them acting.

I want to protect all of our children. I am a mama bear. Children should be carefree and not live with any fear or concern—especially in their own homes nor own communities. They (and we) have already had to endure such uncertainty in the past four years. I want our children to feel safe and deeply cared for.

My two children are currently in the Canton Public Schools and have been enrolled as such throughout their education. My husband and I have lived in Canton since 2007. The daughter of a life-long teacher (second grade and special education), I was born and raised in Franklin, Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Providence College, and have spent decades of work in advertising, management, sales, and government relations.

I serve on each the Communications Subcommittee and Policy Subcommittee, and am a member of the Canton Community Preservation Committee (all roles related to the School Committee).

Prior to being on the School Committee I was CAPT President at the JFK.

I am honored to have been involved with coaching Canton youth sports teams along the way, too (baseball, girls soccer, boys soccer). This spring I am proudly celebrating twelve consecutive seasons of coaching.
In November 2023 at the Massachusetts Association of School Committees Annual Banquet I was honored with a prestigious award I didn’t know existed before I was notified of being the winner via mail approximately six weeks prior: The MASC All-State School Committee Award.

“In recognition of your support for public education, children, and families and personifying honorable elected public service through your work as a school committee member” is the way the plaque reads. I most definitely don’t seek recognition, but this was a wonderful surprise and great honor.

Qualifications aside, I believe ethics are extremely important. Good relationships and respect for each other build foundations for progress.
I am very hopeful to receive your consideration and your vote on April 2nd. The knowledge I’ve accumulated over the past three years continues to be applied as we, as a Committee, work to keep up-leveling the Canton Public Schools so that each and every student can have the best possible education and social experience. I promise to keep putting my heart and soul into that mission.
